Session Presenter:
Linda Muller, CRM, IGP, ERMp is the Director of Records and Information Management with Ricoh Legal. With twenty five years experience in records and information management, primarily international law firms including Perkins Coie LLP, Morrison & Foerster LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP, Linda has successfully managed technology implementations, data conversions, practice management problem-solving and solution building with legal practice groups, administrative departments, and regional offices. As a Certified Records Manager and Information Governance Professional, Linda has been instrumental in building strategic records management compliance plans for organizations by providing an in-depth analysis of existing RIM processes.
Session Title:
Records Management Evolves Into Information Governance: Law Firm Trends and Getting Your House in Order
Session Description:
Learn what other firms and legal departments face in light of records management challenges, legacy data, staffing the records operation, risk compliance, client mandates, etc. Benefit from the solutions and lessons others have learned. Discover how an Information Governance strategy can lead to implementation of legally defensible best practices.
Session Objectives:
After completing this session, participants should be able to:
- Identify critical key areas of life cycle information management for their firm/department
- Recognize records management as a “component” of Information Governance
- Assess basic Information Governance compliance
- Evaluate ways to mitigate risk, reduce cost, increase efficiency, leverage resources
This counts for 1 hour of CLM recertification credit in the subject area of Legal Industry/Business Management (LI)
