Judge Jay A. Daugherty

In 1991, Jay Daugherty was appointed as a Circuit Judge in the 16^th Judicial Circuit in Kansas City.  As a Circuit Judge, he has conducted hundreds of jury trials and thousands of court trials in nearly every area of the law including personal injury, employment discrimination, medical malpractice, commercial and business litigation, construction, insurance coverage, product liability, real estate and condemnation, environmental law and workers’ compensation. 

Judge Daugherty retired from the Circuit Court December 2010,  and joined Shaffer Lombardo Shurin in 2011 developing a full time ADR practice centered on mediation, arbitration and consulting.
